It wasn\u2019t only me actually. Me and my friends went to a protest in Shinjuku, and there I met my friend\u2019s friend who is a graduate student and we all thought that we should do something at ICU. So we made a group (a small one that was just a group of friends) to discuss what we can do at ICU. We kept inviting friends who were also concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the group kept growing!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, as people who initiated the idea, we have a responsibility of keeping the group working, so we separated roles like those who will be responsible for contacting ICU, emailing them, and talking about guest lecturers. And those who contact students and plan events on campus like protests and lunch talks. …and there are many other students that are doing a great job behind the scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So regarding the group, we all united for one message, Peace! Regardless of our backgrounds, beliefs, political views, we all wanted the war to stop. We don\u2019t want innocent people and innocent children to die and suffer, so we called for peace. At ICU, we have people from different backgrounds. Arabs, Israelis, Muslims, Christians, Jews, people from all around the world! So we didn\u2019t want to make any of them uncomfortable or unsafe, so tried to be very respectful in our solidarity stands and the posters we had. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are all there as Humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
